Important news for women:
The human papillomavirus also known as HPV is a serious matter that we should not ignore. Cervical cancer is caused by certain strains of HPV, a common sexually transmitted disease –which kills more than 4,000 women in the US each year.
HPV can also cause genital and anal warts and cancer of the mouth, head and neck, penis and anus.
By taking a routine pap test many of these cases can be prevented. When caught at an early stage, abnormal cells in women are highly treatable.
According to the American Cancer Society, more than 12,000 new cases of cervical cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year. Due to women getting Pap test consistently the rate of cervical cancer in the United States has fallen more than 50%.
So, what’s the lesson here? Get tested, be one LESS!
